Photos from my holiday - want to see more?
12:43 PM by Alexander Turcic in Miscellaneous | Lounge I've uploaded a few photos which I shot earlier today from inside the city walls of Dubrovnik. The photos were shot with a Nikon D100 SLR camera and postprocessed in Adobe Photoshop. Would you like to see more? I could upload random shots from time to time. Of course I don't want to bore you with my fanastic summer here, with days that are warm, long and filled with seemingly endless hours of bright sunshine. *grin* |

Do we depend too much on PDAs?
06:39 AM by Colin Dunstan in Miscellaneous | Lounge A new discussion over at PalmAddicts contemplates whether we depend too much on the PDA. There are many differing opinions on the advancement of technology but there are really two main sides to the issue. One side is enthusiastic and ready for new progress and change, while the other side can see the value of technology but is more cautious and wary of the changes technology brings to society as a whole. Do you think society in general has benefited from the advancements of PDA technology in what PocketPC and Palm devices do today? |

Backup Buddy VFS Pro 3.1 Upgrade Is Available on PalmOS
05:30 PM by Bob Russell in Archive | Handhelds and Smartphones From Blue Nomad: If you use Backup Buddy VFS Pro, they recommend that you upgrade to the 3.1 version. It's a free upgrade for current v3 users. I just did the upgrade and it was extremely simple. Just download the file from http://www.bluenomad.com/bbvfs/bbvfspro.zip and install on top of the current version. If you have a copy on your expansion memory card (so that you can restore from the card), then when you do the first backup with the new version, it will remind you that the card copy needs to be upgraded also, and offers to do it with the press of an on-screen button. Couldn't be simpler. You'll find that the first backup is a bit slower, just like when you first installed the program.
More information is available as follows, but please check with the bluenomad web site for the most current details.

My antialiased font utility has been updated to include a small "Quick Make Font" utility. Just double click on "Quick Make Font", choose a base font, and font packages in Fonts4OS5, FontSubst, FontHackV, eReader Pro (=FontHack) and Mobipocket formats are generated in FontSmoother's _fonts directories. This is no replacement for EasyConvert, but is nice if you don't want to do additional downloads or want to generate multiple font formats at once.
