While it may be just a "vocal minority" it truly *is* vocal. My daughter participates in "booktok", and most of the people on there read on multiple Kindles (as do both my daughter and myself)

My son jumps back and forth between the audio and ebook version of books all the time, and while I guess it would be possible without the sync that Amazon does, it's definitely *much* easier with it. (and yes, I know that for the audio/ebook sync to work both copies have to have been purchased from Amazon)

So yeah...there are a LOT of people who sync books among different devices for lots of different reasons. A lot of those people use Kindles because you can sync books from virtually any source if you aren't afraid to use the Send to Kindle service.

I may try Pocketbook someday, but I will probably never go back to Kobo because being able to sync all of my books no matter where they're from is so important to me. (even if it's not important to you)
