AZW Conversion Question
I'm attempting to remove DRM from some of my Kindle books so my spouse can read them on her Nook. This is on a Win 10 PC with Calibre 6.14.1, DeDRM 10.0.3 with KFX plugin installed. I'm downloading the books to the PC app for Kindle 1.40.1

I drop in the azw file and it shows the book cover but file type is shown as KFX-Zip which won't open.

After posting I found this sub forum and posted. First, I tried to delete that original post for just that reason but found I could only edit the post and saw no option to delete. The edit button suggests you can delete it but I don't see how.

@sespr, What is happening is that you are downloading KFX. The DRM cannot be removed.

I'm getting the files from My Kindle Content folder and each file is marked as a .azw file type. Are you saying that despite that it's really a KFX file type?

All your ebook downloads will show up as .azw regardles of format (mobi, azw3/KF8, KFX, azw4, etc.). What you want to look for are files with a .voucher filetype ( i.e. amzn1.drm-voucher.v1.188c2f45-4dc2-46b0-be83-5a2d070ad25f.voucher) which will tell you you have a KFX file.
