Question about email feature
If I set up the email feature in Calibre, does that mean I do not have to plug in my Kindle to my computer running Calibre?
Does Amazon charge anything for the @kindle.com email? |

Yes, send-to-email allows you to receive your boooks wirelessly (from Amazon) rather than via USB tethering.
Amazon will charge you for using their 3G to receive books. This requires you to have a 3G Kindle ![]() |

Thanks, I do not have a 3G Kindle, only WiFi. Can I still get the books/news from Calibre to the Kindle via the email option? |

2) Ask Amazon for the definitive answer. There are limitations on what can be sent (read Amazons TOS agreement). I still think they allow some free transfers. Personally, I use USB and leave WiFi off. Big business collects enough data as is. ![]() |

Yes. The email works either way, but using the free email address merely means Amazon will not autosend it over 3G if available and will instead wait for WiFi.

Thanks, so if I don't have a 3G Kindle, I don't have to worry about using the 'free' email address and it will still come over wifi to the Kindle device?
