New Nook Color Forum Section
|
|
11:31 AM by pilotbob in Miscellaneous | Announcements
Recent updates to this device have graduated it from a simple eReader to a general purpose Android tablet. Since this device is now quite different in features and usage from the eInk devices it now warrants its own separate section rather than only having a pre-fix. All of the threads with the "Color" prefix have been moved to the new Nook Color section and the "Color" prefix has been dropped from availability in the parent forum. If you find any other Nook Color specific threads you think should be in this section, please "report" the thread and ask us to move it. Enjoy the discussions... and make sure to Color in the lines, or not. Mobileread Moderation Team |

New Kindle Fire Forum Section
|
|
12:01 PM by pilotbob in Miscellaneous | Announcements
We discussed whether this should be in the Android section or the Kindle section and decided it was more an Amazon device than an Android device and most people would look for information in that area. If you find any Kindle Fire specific threads you think should be in this section, please "report" the thread and ask us to move it. Enjoy the discussions... and don't get burned. http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Touch-W...pf_rd_i=507846 Kindle $79 (kso price) Kindle Touch $99 (kso price) Kindle Touch 3G $149 (kso price) Kindle Fire $199 The previous Kindle 3 models now look to be called the Kindle Keyboard and Kindle Keyboard 3G. The prices listed above are for the "special offer" models. The non-special order models are an extra $30 for the base Kindle and $40 for the Touch models. The devices will be shipped in November. I hope they made millions of these. A $79 Kindle is going to sell like crazy. Discuss! BOb |

The news is now reporting that Steve Jobs has died.
Well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. We have added a new forum section for the Nook Color as a subsection to the Barnes & Noble NOOK section.
We have added a new forum section for the Kindle Fire as a subsection to the Kindle section. Since this device is quite different in features and usage from the eInk Kindle devices it warranted it's own separate section rather than only having a pre-fix.
Not only were the rumors true about the Kindle tablet release with the name Kindle Fire but 3 new unexpected eInk devices sans keyboard and 2 of them adding touch screens are up for pre-order at amazon right now:
