Unable to Send ePub to Kindle

I bought a book at the Kobo store and liberated the file. I tried to send the book to my kindle using Send to Kindle and email address in Calibre but I keep getting E999 error which is an internal error at Amazon. Is the service down or is there an issue with the book in your opinion? I'm able to open the epub in any reader.

For now, convert the ePub to KF8 (AZW3) and then you can load it to your Kindle via USB.

I've not pursued the issue, but I've not been able to use the Send to Kindle email process for epubs for months. I've had too much going on to try and figure it out. I just convert to AZW3 and transfer over usb.

Does it pass ePubcheck?

IME, ones I pull off of my Kobo ereader are not as 'clean' as those liberated with ACSM method. I have to fix about 3 or 4 things before it passes epubcheck. It's only one or 2 when downloading ASCM.

If you download Kindle Previewer, it may offer more details. Generally if KP complains, so will Send To Kindle and vice versa.

Send to Kindle does not support fixed-layout ePub.
