Verse Pro bluetooth controller
Hello, wanted to ask if there are some bluetooth controller device which can turn pages on click through distance (short or long does not matter). Mean not pressing or touching reader device. Thank you.

I've been looking into this too. I've seen that people have had luck with the 8bitdo micro and zero gamepads. I've tried a couple of selfie/tik tok rings from Aliexpress and had no luck. One paired but the Verse Pro didn't recognize any keypresses when I tried to map them, and the other didn't even pair. I think the zero is my next move.

I've tested the 8Bitdo Micro. It works in the keyboard mode, but I needed to map the input to functions in the PB first. Currently I have put the A and Y to next/prev page.

Hello.
I have recently purchased the 8bitdo Micro controller to use as a compact keyboard/remote for my E-Ink reader, a PocketBook 912. I am having some difficulties pairing the device and would appreciate your technical advice. The PocketBook 912 is a legacy device (Bluetooth 2.1, HID profile). My testing with other Bluetooth peripherals shows the following: 1. Apple Wireless Keyboard (A1314, 2009): Connects perfectly to the reader without any PIN code request. 2. AS Shutter (Remote): Connects successfully, but requires PIN code 0000 during the pairing process. When I try to connect the 8bitdo Micro (in Keyboard mode), the reader recognizes it, but they fail to handshake. Could you please clarify: Does the 8bitdo Micro support backward compatibility with Bluetooth 2.1? Does the Micro require a PIN code (like "0000" or "1234") when pairing in Keyboard mode? Is there a specific firmware version or a startup mode (D-input, Keyboard, or others) that you recommend for maximum compatibility with older Linux-based HID systems? I really like the form factor of the Micro and hope to get it working with my setup. |

I would like to add an important detail to my previous inquiry regarding the 8bitdo Micro and its compatibility with legacy devices.
I have conducted further testing and found that the 8bitdo Micro successfully connects and works perfectly with an iMac 27 (Late 2010), which is also equipped with a Bluetooth 2.1 module. This confirms that the Micro's hardware is physically capable of communicating with BT 2.1 radios. However, the handshake issue persists specifically with the PocketBook 912 (Linux-based OS). Given that it works on a 2010 Mac but fails on the E-reader, could you please clarify: Pairing Method: Does the Micro use "Just Works" pairing, or does it strictly require a specific security handshake that might be missing in older Linux/BlueZ kernels? Handshake: Is there a way to force the controller into a "Legacy Pairing" mode where a PIN (0000) can be manually entered? Keyboard Profile: When in Keyboard mode (K), does the device present itself as a standard Boot Protocol HID Keyboard, or does it require a full Report Protocol handshake? Knowing how it handles the connection on the iMac 2010 might help us find a workaround for the PocketBook. |
