REQUEST: Port of Fabled Lands Java app

Hi all, I'm curious if it's possible to port Java apps like this one for the Fabled Lands gamebook series to jailbroken Kindle devices. As I understand it, Kindles are built on Java, and it might be possible to run this as a Kindlet? I gave porting this a try but didn't make much progress. I'd be grateful for any thoughts from the devs here, from "No that's not possible," to help and advice on how to do it.

Fabled Lands is a series of RPG gamebooks set in a massive, open, sandbox world. This would be a lot of fun on a Kindle.

Kindlets are no longer allowed. You can create booklets, as for example, KUAL. No Idea what is involved in doing so. Perhaps you can inspect KUAL to get some idea of what is involved.

If you go the booklet route, this might be a good place to start.

Thank you for the link! Unfortunately the readme suggests that this method won't work on newer firmwares

The Kindlet API is gone, the Booklet API is private and heavily obfuscated. Pick your poison .

I guess if the main purpose for the Kindle is use of this Java app and you have done the JB you could downgrade to a firmware that supports Kindlets, but that is a long time ago and there might not be a firmware at that level for the newer Kindles. Beyond that only the Booklet API remains and that is definitely a long hard slog.

I wonder if JRE in an Alpine Linux container would work...
