Stylus for the Sage?

I had a Microsoft stylus that worked great but it broke after two months. Really annoying for I paid $130 for it then another $35 for a charger. messing with it i broke it even more and probably voided the warrantee. I then purchased a cheap stylus on amazon but it will not let me "write" on a book on my Sage. It lets me highlight and flip pages but not write. Can someone recommend me a stylus pen that is cheap and can be purchased at best buy perhaps?

The Adrawpen for MS Surface works identically to the Kobo pen I got with the Elipsa. I have the Sage & Elipsa.
Very cheap, about 1/2 the price of Kobo pen originally, but gone unavailable on Amazon UK today. The Kobo pen has come down in price a lot.
Note that rechargable makes no sense because the non-replaceable battery will die in a few years and that might be only $3 worth of AAAA cells.

I worked as an Electronic Design engineer. Things to never put rechargeable batteries in, or buy rechargeable versions of:
Smoke Alarms
CO2 Alarms
DMM/DVM/Multimeters and similar using 9V or 2 x 1.5V
Pocket LCD calculators (45 years ago VFD & LED ones needed rechargeable cells).
Anything that works more than 3 months (Kobo Pen estimated 6 months).
Keyfobs
Button end of Wireless doorbell.
Electret Microphones (not true Capacitor / condenser types which use phantom power anyway).

That's not a digitizer stylus, or if it is it a different system. The rubbery tip "dumb" stylus for regular capacitive touch phone or tablet ($2 here) will highlight and flip pages on a Sage or Libra!

There is a more deluxe MS Surface stylus with BT to activate One Note. That needs a separate battery or rechargeable. The basic MS surface stylus has no BT and just the two barrel buttons (same functions as Kobo pen). Those mostly use an AAAA cell because it lasts so long.

An Apple or Wacom (any type) won't work.

Not local but I use (Sage and Elipsa) this excellent, high quality stylus, NOT made in China, USB-C rechargeable, in five colors:

RENAISSER Rechargable Raphael 520C

Currently using a Raphael 520C as well. I managed to get it for $25 a few weeks back when Amazon had some Prime-like day sale. IIRC you can hold one button to toggle "erase" mode and another one to toggle "highlight" mode (instead of annotation).

Someone on the Kobo Reddit did voice some concern about whether the finer point of the Renaisser compared to the rounder tip of the Kobo Stylus might be doing some long-term damage to the screen. But other than a few sessions to doodle and test the handwriting recognition, I really haven't used it much.

If Kobo would allow you to sync your handwritten notes with the Android app, I would probably use it more frequently.

I did some research and my local computer store had two compatible stylus. Dell was the cheapest but I could not find it so I got an older generation Microsoft surface pen. Still expensive but much cheaper that the one I had. It writes much better than the newer more expensive model that broke on me
