Kobo Aura HD stuck on Please Charge

I have a Kobo Aura HD that is stuck on the black Please Charge screen.
I don't know much about these ereaders. I have always owned Kindles.
If I slide the power switch the little LED comes on a few seconds and goes off.
If I connect it to a USB charger or the PC the same thing happens. The little LED comes on a few seconds when I plug it in and goes off.
I have tried the pinhole reset.
I have tried holding the power slider for up to 4 minutes.
I have tried holding the power slide and light button for 30 seconds or so.
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
I tried the 9V battery jumpstart that some people had success with.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Plug it into a wall charger for least an hour. Do not touch it during this time.
It will probably take 3 or 4 hours to completely charge.

Ok. I am doing that now.
Should the LED be lit up the whole time it is charging?
It goes off after a few seconds and there is no indication on the screen that it is charging either.

I fixed it.
Turns out the battery was already fully charged.
I opened the case and removed and reinserted the internal SD card.
I'm not sure what caused the problem but now it is back to normal.

Don't worry about that light. Since it is totally dead, the LED may not stay on.

Good to hear you've got it working loltun!

Just want to comment--when I plug in my Aura HD to charge there is no LED light that goes on. The only indication I have that it's charging is if I turn it on, the battery indicator will show that it's in the process of charging.

I agree--there's no light to indicate charging on my Aura HD either. Should there be? I don't ever remember seeing one...
