Page turns on the Voyage
Page turning on my new Voyage is noticeably slower than on both of my basic Kindles. I have no Paperwhite or any other e-ink reader to compare it with. Has anyone else noticed such a thing? Could it be because the Voyage's screen has a higher resolution?
It's not so slow as to really bother me, but still... a little unexpected. |

My voyage and PW2 page turns are very fast. Also note that I only have at most 100 items on either of them. So I have lots of free memory and very little to index. I find that my Kindle for IPad turns pages slower than my Kindle devices.

Ditto to the above. Could it be that you noticed this after loading a bunch of new books onto the device? Until it finishes indexing, page turns will slow down noticeably. Try it again now and see if it is still happening. You also might try rebooting the device, and updating the firmware. Finally make sure that it is not set to refresh the page after every page turn (this option is somewhere in settings). That will definitely create the impression of slower page turns. My Voyage is supper fast

No, I have loaded only 2 books so far on my Voyage, and nothing is indexing. I also updated the firmware and restarted twice. I would not say the page turns are exactly slow, perhaps if I didn't have the two basics (their page turns are lightning fast), I would not even notice it. Still, it feels weird.
By the way, turning back to the previous page is slower than turning forward. On the basic Kindles, I do not see such a difference. The Voyage is not set to refresh every page turn. Possibly someone who has both the Voyage and one of the basics could compare them and chime in? If they cannot see the difference, then it must be some fault in my Voyage. |

I have a basic, but its the one with the buttons, the one right before the touch screen one. I also have a Voyage and a PW1.
I just did some page changing with the basic and the Voyage side by side and they are pretty much the same, with the Voyage being a split second faster it seems. Certainly not slower. But again, I don't have a touch basic. I did it with the PW1 and that one is slower than my Voyage, but that one has always given me problems all around. Its why I gave it to my husband and bought a basic back when. Until they had the Voyage which I have had for 15 months now. My Voyage has about 300 books on it, My basic 350. |

I experimented a little more and included my old silver basic, which I charge regularly, but no longer use. The results are:
1) Voyage vs Silver basic with buttons: Voyage is faster. 2) Voyage vs Black basic with buttons: about the same. The black basic has a little over 600 books on it. 3) Voyage vs Touch basic: Basic is faster. The touch basic has about 1000 books on it. So it seems the Touch Basic is the fastest Kindle. It has the same processor as the Voyage, but lower resolution, and I think that's the reason its page turns are faster. Less pixels to redraw. All in all, though, I like my new Voyage very much. It has a fabulous screen and excellent contrast. It will become my main e-reader from now on. |

I have a Voyage and all 3 Paperwhites and, while I never actively compared page turns on them the only difference I've noticed is on the Paperwhite 1, which is a bit slower. If the Paperwhite 3 and Voyage turn pages at different speeds it's not enough to notice without looking for it.
