PDF page turns!!
My wife & I read a lot of pdfs on our Kindle PW in landscape mode. However, it is infuriating to have to find your place, somewhere in the middle of the display, every time you turn to the bottom of the page, since it doesn't mark where you were in any way (like my PocketBook 360 did with a nice horizontal line). I tried k2pdfopt and disliked the part where a small pdf becomes 40mb. Jailbreaking & using KOReader doesn't mark either (though I think the zoom was a bit better).
So, are there any touch screen, e-ink readers that mark your progress down the page of a pdf when you turn it, or when you turn just put a lot of white space at the bottom so that the top of the page is the next line? |

k2pdfopt has got two modes, native and bitmap(default).
If our pdf is in A5 format, we should use native mode, that will retain original pdf size and OCR, just cropping the borders. If our pdf is in A4 format, using default bitmap mode will reflow pdf (textual or scanned) resulting in a lot bigger pdf if our pdf was textual because it will be turned to bitmap. We should also do the OCR again on that bitmap for pdf to be searchable. There are probably pdf apps for rooted android readers that mark progress in some way. Sony PRS T1 marks the progress but I would usually use k2pdfopt to adjust pdf beforehand. Last edited by markom; 10-16-2013 at 06:43 AM. |
