Amazon Returns

I didn't want to drag up an old thread but so much for us vowing to have no returns. Instead of a delivery yesterday we received a refund email this morning. No idea why our order has not been delivered they only shipped it (supposedly) late Thursday.

If our account gets closed it won't be because we returned items but that's small consolation.

Edited to say it was returned as 'undeliverable'. I think that's Amazon logistics speak for we have too many orders to deliver!

I wanted that item, it was a storage case for my new large headphones.

I think it means that the carrier lost or damaged it. I've had that happen.

I am guessing damage too. Also you did not return it, the carrier did. So I don't think that one return will count against you.
I am still trying to figure out how UPS damaged a battery charger.

Now I don't remember if it was last winter or winter before last but two UPS trailers got destroyed. Both were full of packages. I mean the big semi trailers that could have had up to 18,143 kg or 40,000 lbs or 20 tons of packages each.
I don't even want to think about that logistical nightmare.
Both the trailers were being transported on railroad cars when a bus came off the highway and landed on top of them.
The good thing was the train was going very slow.
If I remember right only 3 fatalities and 3 were seriously hurt.
One person was not injured.

Or it got lost, or sent to the wrong part of the country, that's happened before. Its just really anoying, and worrying as I had just started to relax a bit. I won't order anything now until after Christmas, I know anything could have happened but they are shipping so much right now I'm not tempting fate.

It happened to me also, and that's because the truck had an accident and all packages were considered damaged and undeliverable. I received a refund the day after it was shipped. I wanted to re-order the item, but it was the last one available. That's when Amazon CS told me the truck had an accident, and apparently a pretty bad one.

From then on I just hoped (and still do) that there was no one injured, the rest is irrelevant, no ?

I had PB Book get returned to sender cause the truck was in a wreck. They just returned Everything in the truck back to the senders Rather than taking a chance the things being shipped were ok.

If it was lost they would wait a week before giving a refund and usually you have to call and report it. It had to be damaged to get a refund that quick. Let's hope no one got hurt.

Does anyone remember the year FedEx contracted out and one driver went nuts from pressure and started just throwing the packages out on the street? It's crazy this time of the year.
