It was the Build 708 that my friend installed on her 64MB unit and got the crap-out. She's since been unable to re-install Build 708, Build 708fmt or Build 538fmt. None of them work. It is in boot/reboot Hell.

Needless to say, it's going back for repairs.

Hi Derek!

For your info my unit was from the original NAEB order in March. I suffered a broken screen a while ago and Bookeen sent me a replacement Cybook still a 64mb unit in June. It had the 68 something built. I updated it to build 708 without any problems. I even used the sd card that held all my books to do it and further more I did it from a Mac.

It run just fine. It seems to have a longer battery life as well , no bookmarks problem, no lookup problem, ( I have an english dictionnary and a english to french dictionnary and they work very well)

The only thing that I seem to do differently from what I read on those threads, is that I only read DRM books bought either at Fictionwise or BoB. No self created books or Pdfs.

I am still convinced that the Cybook is the best thing that I bought in recent years in conjonction with switching from PC to Mac!

Regards,

Georges

I love mine as well. I have two of them now as well as the EB-100 (hardware and OS the same as the Cybook which I'm going to use as the test platform for the Cybook Open Inkpot port) and I couldn't be happier with them.
