Reminds me of the old joke:

Q: What do American beer and sex in a canoe have in common?
A: They're both near water.

I just came home from a family gathering and I played with an iPad! Shiny new toy. I love it, and I want one. We didn't have enough time to figure out how to get a B&N book on it before they had to leave. It was actually smaller than I expected it to be. I want one, I want one, I don't really need it, but I want one.

WE have shredded wheat too. its not like that. More like cornflakes made out of wheat all squashed together into a biscuit. It is not unlike bad particle board in appearance.

Shredded wheats are definitely different. I know this, because I have memories of my dad buying them, me liking them, and being forbidden to touch "Dad's shredded wheats". This is why, at this moment, and from the time I moved out of home, Shredded Wheats have often made it onto my cereal shelf (along with the mother-banned Fruit Loops and Coco Pops). I like shredded wheats. Weet-bix is more like flakes of wheat (do you get Wheaties...like brown, more fibrous, less sweet, Cornflakes) compressed into brickettes.

EDIT: Or, what SneakySnake said.

Cheers,
Marc

We were never allowed froot loops for breakfast cereal, but when we were very small, she used to give them to us dry in a bowl for car trips in the hope it would reduce the vomiting.

Shredded Wheat was the closest thing to it in America. Unless you count granola bars as breakfast cereal.
And, SneakySnake, Froot Loops don't prevent vomiting. They just make it more festive!

Got to have sugar in there too. It's the food of the Gods I tells ya And I'm eating a bowl now, which is probably not advisable after the drinkies I had last night

Oh and to the others in this thread, this is the UK version of Weetabix:

I can't find a picture of it served up, but it looks like a grey/brown slop with dark spots where the sugar crystallizes. Yummy And it is nothing like Shredded Wheat. That's hamster food.

Hamster food!
Hey, hamster food sounds much better than "a grey/brown slop with dark spots".
Said the person (me) who use to eat peanut butter and chocolate chips stirred together with sugar for a late night snack.

MMMM! Just this afternoon I was dipping a Hershey bar in a single serve cup of Jif! Do you remember those commercials for Reese's where the two oblivious people collide, one eating their chocolate bar, the other out of a jar of PB. "You got your chocolate in my PB!" "No, you got your PB on my chocolate!"

Wheetabix, donuts and "PB & C", I'll be up all night thinking about all that sugar!

This is why, in England, Hamsters are far healthier than us humans
