Then he should be keeping it to himself.
Dieters, smokers trying to quit and suicides. Everybody wants to share the pain. |

Weet-bix is, I think, Weetabix...just the Aussie name? We also have Vitabrits, which are very similar. It's been a staple for me since earliest memory.

I'm just messing with you, Marc.
We have a hot breakfast cereal called Wheatena here, looks like something a beaver threw up. An acquired taste. |

As for me, I'll talk non-commitally to anyone who talks to me, then clam up and run a mile as soon as it gets too personal/uncomfortable, or they get too pushy. This is by my standards of too pushy etc, which got me a reputation of being stand-offish and a loner when I was at school... I've only ever twice given my details to some-one I later regretted giving them to. One turned out to be a bit of a phone stalker, the other turned out to be a (suspected) scientologist who was also trying to build a nuclear reactor in his spare room and used to post a lot on a photoforum about how London was a war zone - all of which came to light after I'd met him ![]() Quote:

Anxiously awaiting the first episode in Series 4 of Doctor Who tonight! This is our Saturday night ritual. Daughter has BFF over for a sleepover, so she can join us for Doctor Who. We'll probably look at all of the Doctor Who YouTube videos I bookmarked (Thanks again to h_t!) last night (well, actually in the wee hours this morning), for our pre-show warm-up!
![]() (Yes, I know. We are way behind the rest of the world when it comes to Doctor Who series episodes. We're at the mercy of the local PBS channel. We've been in some sort of Time Loop watching series 1, 2 & 3 over & over again. We are just giddy with excitement to break out of this loop! Not that we don't enjoy the reruns.) |

Just trying to make a point, Am.
Your brain picks up on subtle signs. The less danger in your life, the weaker the warnings. This may help: I went shopping with my sister (not the idiot) and her toddler son about 10 years ago at a large shopping center. It was getting dark as we were leaving. The parking structure was multi floored and badly lit. As we were leaving, I went to tie my shoe and told my sister to wait. Of course, she didn't. As I knelt down, I watched my sister head left towards the car. At the very last second before I looked at my shoe, I saw motion on the right. Alarm bells went off in my head and I proceeded after my sister, now being followed by a man in an oversized hooded sweatshirt. He was moving very fast. When my sister reached her car and drew out the keys, he said "Long time no see!" very cheerfully and reached into his sweatshirt pocket. My sister was shocked that he was so close to her. He was shocked when I hit him from behind and drove him headfirst into the bumper. He was a known sex offender and was carrying a knife in his pocket, along with a roll of duct tape. My sister goes nowhere alone now. Just be safe. Okay? Pay attention. My sister told me later that she felt nervous, hearing footsteps behind her, but let it go, thinking it was me. |

Scary shit, recluse.
I dont like those little piss ants that prey on the weak. I think it is about time we start demanding harsher punishment towards these pieces of shit. |

Point taken, Recluse. And thank you. It's stories like those that always make me look round if I hear something, even when I'm with people (including the yeti). I prefer to know for myself what's going on around me than rely on anyone else to do it for me. Not from personal experience, but from it being drummed into me as a child, and then as a teen when something happened to a schoolfriend who thought she didn't have to be aware of her surroundings.

![]() I think I might have some tonight (it's definitely winter now...only 18C at the moment, with a cold wind, and under 10C overnight). Right now, TL1 is making cheese scones for lunch. I need to go buy some marshmallows too, and some decent chocolate, to make hot chocolate (though I'll go a hot cocoa in its stead, if I can't get the chocolate). Cheers, Marc |
