I want better buttons! Where I often hold the kobo my thumb is near bottom of the upper button/top of the lower button - and they are very stiff to press and make a louder noise when pushing them.
The other ends of the buttons are more easily able to be pressed and don't make a clicking noise. Last edited by bohn; 06-27-2025 at 02:11 AM. |

I love the asymmetrical form factor with one wide edge. For me, it's much easier to hold than the symmetrical one.

I prefer asymmetrical as I can hold the device and turn pages with one hand.
Mobius screen would also help to use the device without a sleepcover (sometimes), and by that the device is more comfortable to hold without worrying about a potential screen-killing accident. |

I only use a sleep cover on ones taken out of the house or maybe in storage. Edit: I've a calculator with a slide on cover that can slide on in reverse. Half the weight of a folding sleep cover. Another calculator has a double hinge on the front cover making it easier to open and fold underneath. Did the Sony PRS-350 have a single panel cover option? I have the PRS-350 but I've never even seen a photo of the cover. Last edited by Quoth; 06-27-2025 at 03:03 PM. |

Well, for example, Apple had to replace their proprietary and obsolete connector with USB-C, since it's mandatory here in the EU.

True, but I still wonder if Apple will sell user replaceable battery devices in the USA. I personally hope they do, but I could see them spitefully selling a glued-in battery model here, and an EU regulation model there.

EU is a bigger market than the USA, and there are quite a few countries that are not in the EU and often implement EU directives (which have to be implemented in each EU country anyway).
It would cost Apple extra to do a USA only version of the battery. |

That is the only reason I keep buying Nooks, the buttons on both sides and symetrical form factor. It certainly isn't because of the software which is terrible. |
