"Generator error", Koreader on Kobo Aura H2O
Hello,
Koreader stopped working on my Kobo Aura H2O and now I only get "generator error" as error message. I know I can re-install it from this page: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/releases , but I don't know which file I need to download and how to proceed. There's an installation procedure on this page: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=314220 but I find it quite confusing. Partly, because it's referred to a zip file here which I'm supposed to download (which one?) and unpack to the root folder on my Kobo device (what is this root folder called and how can I identify it?). Thank you for any help you can offer. |

It seems like your Kobo got updated and now you need to reinstall KFMon

You need the package with "kobo" in it. You first have to click "Show all 19 assets."
The root folder is just the first folder that opens when you open the drive for your Kobo (it may even pop up by itself when you plug in the device, depending on your OS and settings). I think it is labeled "KoboeReader" or something similar. |

There was a similar question here:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=351860 And there is some additional info here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=341194 You only need the KFMon package; currently: OCP-KFMon-1.4.6-89-g8daae26.zip You can find it when following the second link in your original post, then follow the instructions. You don't need to download any other release package (e.g., from your other link). If you want to update KOReader you can always do it later over-the-air, once you got it running again. |

Go to .adds folder on your Kobo from PC. There should be a few folders: koreader, nm, kfmon. You need nm (this is Nickel Menu). In there, should be a config file that show which lines should appear in nickel menu (lower right corner of Kobo when in main menu). You need to uncomment one line and comment out another that launches koreader. |
