Front light is off when waking from sleep

Anyone else finding that a bit annoying? Perhaps there is a way of changing this, so that the light, if it were on in the previous reading session, goes back on when waking up the device?

That's definitely *not* how it's supposed to work.

What's your device/FW/version and how are you launching KOReader?

(And have you ever mangled the advanced settings?)

Ok, that probably means that the problem is possible to fix then. That is good.

Right now I'm running v. 2023.03.45ga8bab5e84_2023-0418

on FW 4.35.20400 on clara hd. Launching through KFMON.

I've been having this issue since several updates or as long as I can remember really, which might mean it's a settings issue, but I have not yet found out how to change it. Found nothing under "front light" of course and not yet under the display settings, but, maybe I just haven't found the right menu yet? Auto warmth is of. I haven't really changed any of those settings before.

I was mostly thinking of whether you'd done something like touch https://github.com/koreader/koreader....lua#L183-L187 (which is accessible in the "Advanced settings" section in the UI).

Also, are the frontlight settings actually *set* in Nickel? (i.e., did you *actively* use Nickel at some point?).

Advanced settings seems to be as it should. I have not really changed anything in nickel except having taken an active decision about keeping automatic front light regulation off. In nickel everything works as it should.

No fancy gestures setup that would actually be silently turning the frontlight off behind your back?

(You can also try today's nightly, as we slightly changed how the toggle behaves on Kobo, although I'm pretty sure that's not what's happening to you

).
