Most of the world it's about 5 months real time and 7 months summer time. We go back earlier to real time and go to summer time later (last sunday of October and last sunday of March)

You're not alone, I read a study some years ago that the natural circadian rhythm of most humans is some amount greater than 24 hours, usually between 24 and 25 hours. Some years ago I had about a three year period of "retirement" (read unemployed) during which my wake sleep cycle migrated around the clock until I was awake most of the night and asleep until early afternoon. I can faithfully report that TV sux at four in the morning.

I've seen studies of people who lived in totally dark caves for some time period -- they report the same non-24-hour circadian rhythms. (That might be the study you refer to.)

I would hate DST all year round—in mid-winter it would mean getting up and going to work in the dark, and I much prefer lighter mornings than evenings. So I say get rid of DST altogether.
