I had never heard of that song, so I looked up the lyrics and a Youtube video of the song. I'll never get those 5 or 6 minutes back... Interesting though. A 1960s sound and message from a 1980s song.

I just remembered another dumb thing my middle brother did, or rather considered doing. In Junior HS he had watched a movie with a deep sea diver and thought that was cool. So he came up with what he thought was an inventive idea to use a vacuum cleaner in reverse mode (blow rather than suck) to push air down to him as he swam in a local creek. Fortunately he never finished building it as dad discovered his plans and pointed out the danger and stupidity of such a project, and threw away his half finished vacuum of death. This was the same brother who thought he could ski down the stairs on 2x4s. That he actually did. It did not end well for him as he had to be taken to the ER at the local hospital! Amazing how such an otherwise smart kid could lack common sense. High IQ, math savant, but almost no common sense! I'm surprised he survived childhood without winning a Darwin Award.

Well, that's the kind of person who ignores "it can't be done" and invents marvelously clever things! Hope he is still surviving, and perhaps still being ingenious.
