Best Reader for Annotations
What's the best e-reader for annotating/highlighting PDFs?
I'd like the annotations to sync to my PC (either wirelessly or over USB) or at least be viewable\editable on the PC while the reader is plugged in. I was disappointed in the Kindle Paperwhite, which didn't support viewing the annotations of personal documents on my PC (I tried some things like Clippings.io, but found it pretty janky). Considering a Kobo Aura H20 and wondering how it fares in this regard. Thanks for any help. |

For PDFs, Kobo ereaders only allow bookmarks and nothing else. No highlighting text and adding an annotation, just tap the top-right corner to set a bookmark. You can add a note afterwards, but that's all. So, they fare terribly. And there is no good way to sync back to the PC or other device.
If the important function is annotating and highlighting PDFs, get a tablet of some sort. |

Agreed.
If you must go down the eInk route, you should be looking at 9.7" or larger devices. Reading PDFs (and a good reading experience is a prerequisite for a good annotating experience) is not an optimal experience on a smaller screen. |

Thanks for the replies all.
Considered a tablet, but thought there were too many distractions. I wanted to use the device solely for reading. But I guess if I can't focus with a tablet then I have larger issues ![]() If I go the tablet route, what's the best for highlighting and managing notes on PDFs? ~$200 price range (down to pay a lot less if there's not much difference for what I want to do. I just want it to work quickly/reliably). |

I use a hybrid detachable laptop/tablet for PDFs/taking notes, but I'm not sure which ones are in your price range. Maybe Asus?
