Linux friendly reader with annotations?
Hello, I'm looking for an e-ink reader which:
-is compatible with a Linux PC -supports pdf well -lets me annotate/highlight pdf (possibly freehand) -lets me transfer annotations to/from a Linux PC The latter is indicated as an experimental feature of Calibre, but it's not clear to which models it applies, nor if it actually works.. I plan to buy something old, second hand, and won't need much space. Wifi would be a plus but not critical. The decisive feature for me is to be able to transfer annotations/highlights, e.g. take notes on the device, read/edit them on the PC, sync them back to the device. I would like to be able to do freehand annotations as well, but I can adapt to typing in notes if that's the only way to sync them. All the rest is optional. Thanks a lot ![]() |

There is no 6" device which "supports PDF well". If PDF is a priority, you need to be looking at tablets like the iPad or a 10" Android equivalent. Please look at previous threads in this forum for endless discussions on this subject.

My real priority is annotation syncing, and 10" is way too big.. thanks for your reply |
