I notice more customization isn't on the list. Fonts, screensavers, margins.... I don't think anyone expects that or that jailbreaking will be soon, if ever. If only we could have Amazon's hardware and customer service with Kobo's customization!

![]() Bigger screen is my no.1 request, even at 6.8" it would be a nice improvement,if it ends up being 8-9.7" a flexible substrate would be a bonus to Keep the weight down and durability up. Last edited by Jason90; 04-06-2016 at 02:15 PM. |

I really don't think we're going to see 8"+ for a dedicated reading device; the large-screen market has been taken over by tablets, as the (relative) failure of the 9.7" Kindle DX demonstrated. I think Amazon will leave large-screen readers to the smaller specialist companies such as Onyx.

Yet the general consensus is most 'hard core' ereaders want a large screen and goodereaders recent indiegogo success proves that ,although 13" device will never be mainstream but I'd settle for a 9.7" model ideally

You say that hard core ereaders want a large screen, but I don't actually think that's true. Most hard core readers probably spend most of their time reading fiction, and that seems best served on a screen around the 6-7" size range, for reasons of portability. Your hard core reader always wants to have the reading device with them, and a 13" device isn't something you can slip into a jacket pocket or a woman's handbag. Sure there's a market for large-screen devices, but I think it's primarily a market for large-screen colour devices, for things like magazines. I read a lot of academic PDFs and find my 9.7" iPad the perfect size for that. The market for large-screen grey-scale devices definitely exists, but it is, to my mind, too small to be of interest to a company like Amazon. |

I have had many different devices with varying screen sizes, and my new KPW is a pleasure to hold one handed. Where it was not easy to hold the KK one handed. I will take the largest screen than put in a device that is easy to hold.

Hard core readers want easy to hold, carry etc. A big screen would not do that. Perhaps the poster above you meant readers of I think they are called graphic novels. And yes 60 is very niche. No where near hard core. |

13" is way too big IMO the 10" Fire is even too big. Some times bigger is not better. I cant find the Fire 8" on display so not sure how it is for reading. But it does sound just right.

1) More text on each page 2) Less page turns 3) better display of graphics 4) bigger screens just feel premium...The difference between a Hardback and a mass market paperback To me the 13" size is too much. If portability became an issue I would just carry my Voyage. |

The DX was a bulky and heavy device,I wouldn't put a downer on future expectations of a larger reader based on a 6 year old device which I think people are currently doing.
Even the Sony dpts-1 weighs much less thanks to its flexable substrate,my point is a large ereader can be done that doesn't have to feel like a burden. Maybe 8" would strike the perfect balance between size and portability but for me personally I'd rather go 9.7" if the option was avalible. |

Please let it be large screen.
I've had Kindle DX for 4 years and just received Kindle Voyage. Recently DX no longer can connect to Kindle Store (I can still send books to it via 3G or USB) and battery didn't hold a charge (I replaced it). Only had KV for a couple hours but can't stand the small screen and small font when in Kindle Store (as far as I can tell font size in Kindle Store cannot be adjusted). Only fits 3 paragraphs (sometimes 4) in book reading mode (with the font size that I prefer) so I have to turn pages all the time. Coming from DX I don't like it at all and probably will send it back even though I like everything else except maybe page sensors that sometimes doesn't work (maybe I am not doing it right). Where are the options for more internal ram and a microSD card slot?
I voted for... page turn buttons larger than 6" waterproof solar power option I don't see Amazon bringing back TTS. Last edited by JSWolf; 04-06-2016 at 09:10 PM. |

I would like to see the Liquavista with an 8 inch screen. Audio and speakers\ Blue tooth capable. I think that the new device will probably tie into Amazons audio structure.
