I'm curious as to why you would phrase such a question. Is it your intention to be so bloody rude? Did you only read half of my post?

I have a really nice Nexus 7 that has the kindle app on it but I also have the voyage. And guess what I am thinking very serious about removing the kindle app from my Nexus. I no long read on the tablet. The voyage is night and day so much better to read on.

Firstly, my question was not addressed to you, but to DuckieTigger.

Secondly, the reason for the question is that, for me personally, having the title permanently displayed is wasting screen space that can more usefully be employed in showing another line of the book, rather than needlessly wasting a line (or possibly even two lines, if you have a blank line under the title). People generally know what book they're reading, so why waste screen space showing them what they already know? The Kindle has a fairly small screen, so it would seem to make sense to use that space to display the actual text of the book, rather than redundant information (which, indeed, is what the Kindle does do).

Not addressing the vent/rant interchange that just happened...

Perhaps there would be less confusion if when you were addressing a question to a specific person or post you could either quote the post or address your post to the specific person utilizing the @ character and following up with their name (i.e.- @DuckieTigger).

True, but if one doesn't specifically quote a post, it's a safe assumption that it's a reply to the post immediately preceding it.

That assumption cannot always be made. If I do that to the last post and someone comes along and gets in a post before I do than my post is not a reply to the post directly before mine.

Could we dial it back a notch or two? (decaf?) I have to admit, though I didn't post the question it did run through my mind... and before you jump on me, I wasn't questioning it in a nasty kind of way, but in a "What am I missing" kind of way.

**edit- I'm a little unclear as to why we are even discussing the merits of certain reader apps on tablets in this thread.

You know what book you are reading but the exact title is sometimes hard to remember. So it is good to see it more. I definitely remember titles worse since I started reading ebooks.

This is true, but if you do want to see the title, all you have to do is tap the top of the screen. I just think personally that it wastes space to have it permanently displayed.

My pet peeve is this does not bring up the author's name. (Yes I do not always remember whose book I am reading.)

I'd just like to point out, regarding this:

Regardless of whatever we happen to be discussing ontopic, offtopic, whatever -- JSWolf is absolutely correct, and I can think of at least a dozen times when failing to quote someone when replying has come to bite me in a miscommunication. (Usually a benevolent confusion, though...)
Of course I can think of more if I include other people.

If there is any chance that your post should only be considered a reply to specific people, it is always a really good idea to be careful and explicitly quote or "@user" people... just in case.
Something which I still often fail to do.

cc my fellow commiserator, @BetterRed
