Samples - New-Improved! w Software update (Voyage, at least)

With the software update that my Voyage just did, my Samples have undergone a wondrous improvement!!!!
-- send myself a sample
-- read the sample
-- buy the book from within the sample, at the end of sample
-- (pause for a bit)
-- sample has deleted itself!!! Yay!!!
-- newly downloaded book has remembered where I left off reading!!!! Triple yay!! Will wonders never cease!!

This is the behavior we've hoped for all along!

Um, I dunno. I'm new to the touch kindle world. I just came from a K4. But I'm pretty sure my Voyage didn't do it until this software update, so I thought it was a new cool thing. Maybe I'm just out of touch. Have you all been seeing this marvelous action all along?

It's a recent thing, samples are now stored in the cloud. I have the same samples on my iPad as I have on the Voyage.

Oops sorry, yes the functionality you are seeing has been around for a while now, but the cloud bit is new, sorry.

will my voyage ( coming sooner than i thought) need the coffee erm i mean latest up date to do the delete sample etc thing?

Sounds great! I haven't gotten the update yet. I don't feel like side loading it, so I guess I will just have to wait until Amazon finds me… me… me...

The act of a Sample remembering your position when you buy the full book is something that was introduced in an older update, my PW1 certainly foes this.

The new improvement with Samples is that they are now treating like a regular book in terms of syncing, so you can add them to a collection and have whispersync sync your progress and collection membership to other devices. Previously a sample was only on the one device.

Yes, and I was always annoyed by this. I tend to keep my samples in a "Samples" collection if I plan on buying it in the future.

Maybe if it made hot chocolate using real chocolate (not a powdered mix) and chocolate milk (not water).

Hot chocolate made with TWO packets of the powdered mix aint all that bad. However, I've never tried the Real Thing, so I've no means of comparison. It's probably safest to keep it that way, or I'd never stop drinking it, I'm sure.

Take your favorite chocolate, melt it, warm up chocolate milk, combine the two, mix well and enjoy!
