Best Buy's BF ad (pg 29) says that "all Fire tablets and Kindle ereaders on sale". Stores only carry 8GB models, but online carries both 8GB and 16GB. The question then becomes - will this offer carry over to online sales?

What colors did you order? I ordered black and show a delivery estimate of 20~24 Nov. It'll arrive before I get my HD 6. If the 16GB doesn't go on sale, I'll get the 8GB instead. For $70, I can live with 4.5GB of user available storage

I ordered white and yellow, from Poetic Direct. On my Amazon order page, it still shows Shipping estimate: Monday, November 17, 2014. But I received an email for each...oh hold on....I am an idiot. The emails were for something else, not the cases.

I think I am going to get the 7" blue one for Mom for Christmas. Still debating if I am gonna get the hubby one or not. He likes the old 10" Galaxy Tab so I am seriously considering upgrading him to either the 8.9 Fire or the newest Galaxy Tab.

The Best Buy here has the 8GB and 16GB in black for the Fire HD 6 and HD 7. I didn't look at the options for the 8.9. Supposedly the sale will be $20 off or the same as Staples, a $20 store card. The sale will be the same online.

The Voyage, the employees weren't certain of. There are no Voyage in the local store and it has been removed from the database. Every Voyage they sold has been returned. This is a small Best Buy, so they may have felt that it just wouldn't sell in this area. Or they can't get enough of it.

Accessories for the Amazon products will be on sale also.

I think I'm going to pick up one of the Fire HD 6's for my wife. I played with giving her the HDX that I have, but the seven inch form factor is a bit large for her tiny hands and I think the new HD 6 would make a perfect multimedia companion for her.

I just bought a slimline case from Smart Shop Online @ Amazon for my 2013 HD, will be delivered today. A search turned up these HD cases under them:

Somehow the full results did not come up with the link, you can use the search box on that page to see if they have the case you want. Took me about a week to get my case delivered to the Midwest from CA.

Just wanted to say these Slimline cases are very nice. I now have the Exact for my HD 6 and Poetic for my last year HD 7. I would say the Poetic case may be slightly better quality, maybe a bit more snug fit. These cases really streamline the tabs while still offering protection. My old leather-like cases seem dated by comparison on my other tabs.

I just discovered something that has me excited. One of the things that bothers me about the Fire tablets is that the font choices are few and very thin. I installed AL Reader from 1 mobile market and after scanning for my library, it works with my amazon books!(all but one book in my Kindle library)I can live with that. I can now have my bold font and background of choice without having to download books to my computer and remove drm.

Just thought I'd pass that along incase anyone else is interested. The app even has an eink mode that looks a lot like my paperwhite. I am so happy at the moment. I have customized the tap zones and it is just about perfect.

Have a question for your KF6 owners, Can you read comfortable at night in the dark on it without using a dimmer app? Asking because after my HD7v2 updated to Sangria and the brightness changed dramatically to where I have to use Screen Dim which keeps crashing too. Before the update I didn't even keep the tablet brightness at minimum as that was too dim even in the dark and now the minimum is too bright in light or dark. It's brighter than the Kindle Fire 1 which everyone always complained about.

I certainly can and do. I use Moon+ Pro and the Kindle app, and sometimes the Scribd app.

the HD 6 is at 4.1.1, IIRC, and hasn't been updated since I got it in October. I do expect an update at some point. Whether it goes to the same as the update you got, who knows.

ETA just tested all three in my room, which is fairly dark at the moment, and all three can go way dimmer than I like.

Update: my grocery store (Fred Meyer) will have the 16GB HD 6 on BF for $99 (it's in their ad). Unfortunately, they don't do online sales. I plan to go there anyway, but not until later that morning. No way am I fighting a 5am mob. So keeping my fingers crossed that they'll still have some.
