I just tried a plugging in a flash drive (with an OTG cord), and it shows up in ES File Explorer as USB. I copied to and from the drive with no problems. Streaming worked with video and mp3.

Haven't been able to get Google Play installed BTW. Those are really old APKs over at Android Cowboy too. We're on KitKat and those are for ICS.

Yes, and I like them. I've put OtterBox Defenders on three Kindle Fires (1 for me and 2 gifts). Great protection and no interference with screen input. I wanted a heavy duty case for my grandson (now 6yo) for the protection.

Keep in mind that the OtterBoxes are very expensive, but I got some good deals on them. If OtterBox made cases for the HD6, I wouldn't get them for several reasons - too expensive and too bulky. At $20, the Poetic Revolution is about 1/4 of the cost; plus, it's not anywhere near as bulky.

The Poetic looks to be perfect for my needs.

Without root, you won't be able to install Google Play and make it work. If you sideload Android Cowboy's version of the Google Play Services, Account mangager, and Services Framework apks to the FHD6, you will be able to login to the latest versions of Google apps like Drive, Music, Books, etc. without the need for Google Play that you either sideload from your phone or install from 1mobile. If you try to use new versions of Account manager, Play Services, or Services Framework, they give errors when you try to sign in. For some reason, the older versions of those three apps enable you to get your Google account onto the HD 6, can't explain why. I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, though, when I've got my Google All Access subscription working on this little thing.

Ah right. Will have to emulate Android on my Mac then to get my APKs as I don't have another Android device. Which is fine.

You can download any free apks using the link Brian posted here It only works for free apps of course.

I should note alot of the apps downloaded through that link work on newer devices only. So if you have a Kindle Fire V1 (Gingerbread) chances are the app wont be compatible.

My Citron HD 6 has shipped. The only thing I've noticed is it went from delivery by 10:30 am to delivery by 8:00 pm. Apparently at one time they were considering sending it overnight.
