Great deal for a 1st gen Fire. I think I'll do it. Early Christmas present for my brother. 8GB will give him plenty of room, since he doesn't use it on his current Fire.

That offer is really tempting. I may have to get out my Nook Color and see if it will still turn on. If I can figure out where I packed it up.

I could always return the HD 6 I ordered from Amazon.

Update: Found my Nook Color, but I don't remember what the charging cord looked like.
I'm just using a generic charger for now.

Whoops, just read the terms and conditions. All Barnes and Noble Nooks are excluded. So it's not any tablet...

I saw the comment on the Best Buy promotion last night (thanks connie2000!), and it was a no-brainer trading-in my 1st Gen Fire in for the $50 credit this morning.

When doing the trade-in the register said the trade in value was $3, but when purchasing the newer Fire, it (the cash register) added another $47.

I had the chance to read the fine print at the register (when the cashier was trying to figure out how to put in the difference), and you can trade in up to 2 working tablets (no broken screens), but they will not take any B&N Nooks or e-ink readers.

They should have just stated working Kindle Fires in the ad. Like turning in iPads for newer iPads.

Oh well, now that I have the beast out, I'll play with it again. I'd forgotten how heavy the Nook Color was.

It was $119 (got the 16G) less $50 gift card less $15 on the Rewards account... not a bad deal at all.

And did I say it's so cute (and that I have no willpower?!?)?!?

Yes, no B & N Nooks. FWIW they didn't take my charging cord. I asked and she said they didn't need it.

Well, I just clicked the checkout button on my 16GB HD 6. Went for black of course, and no offers. Put it on the payment plan thing, but am going to pay that puppy off entirely next month. Just waiting on all my eBay stuff.

Going caseless because I'm probably going to keep it until it's worth $20 anyway.

Even saved $20 with my rewards and gift cards.
