Blossom, glad you decided on the 6, are you going to get a color, or black? I noticed today when I was using it while charging, that the top of the device, near the USB port, did get hot. I didn't notice any heat while I was reading in the car, although I was holding it at the bottom.

I need a case with a hand strap, or the GraphGrip with an added ribbon or hair band. I'll wait and see what comes on the market. Yes it is great holding with one hand, but turning the page with that same hand can require finger acrobatics.

So, it makes a great reader, with Calibre Companion and Moon+. I think I have found the perfect tablet for reading! But time will tell.

I always get black. I'm just not really into colors, I find them distracting. Happy to hear you like it! You can't turn off auto update that I know of. I will get a Poetic slimline case to go with mine.

Wish they would give more images of the Poetic case on Amazon.

I have 4 slim line cases for various devices they are all the same except for cutouts.

Reading in the Kindle app on the 6" screen is surprisingly enjoyable.

Reading news in Flipboard is a no--text is too small for me, and I've never found a way to enlarge it.

Wow- the Fire 6 black product page says In stock but may require an extra 1-2 days to process. Glad I got mine! I'm sure it's a popular item. It is GREAT for reading on! I'm so glad I got one!

eta - now that line is gone.

There are a LOT of apps and games that won't go to the Fire 6. Tune in Radio, Netflix, my favorite editions of Sudoku, Free Cell, Backgammon....I wonder if they need to be redone for the 6" screen?

I went for the 16GB since we will be able to download some Prime Instant Videos to the Fire tablets.

BearMotion will be making the detachable Bluetooth keyboard case.

If you ordered one of the colors from Amazon, check your orders. They must be getting the tablets labeled for shipping. The cancel option has been removed from my order.

I got the 16gb. I really wouldn't recommend the 8gb.

8 GB (4.5 GB available to user) or 16 GB (11.6 GB available to user)

From the past pics I may like the Slimline. The Slimbook may be too bulky for me.

The Fintie case looks nice too. How did you like their cases.
