I wonder what people do who love games. Some games are huge, just a few can eat up all the storage. Also some guides are big. I have a 16 gig 10" tablet that I have iBird Pro and its database, and several Audubon guides on. I haven't used up all the memory yet, but those are big databases. I wouldn't even try to put them on a 8 gig tablet.

I hear you on those guides. I have the databases for 6 Audubon guides downloaded onto my 25.7GB Fire HDX 8.9. What's odd, is that Audubon Trees isn't compatible with the HDX 8.9 and that's one I really wanted on there, beside the Birds.

How does iBird Pro compare with Audubon Birds? I'm sitting on a ton of coins just looking for stuff to buy. My favorite categories are audio, science, and nature.

I don't have Audubon birds to compare, but iBird Pro is excellent. I have Audubon: Trees, Mammals, Wildflowers, Insects & Spiders. Nice guides. I figure when my Acer 10" tablet becomes useless for everything else, I will still keep it just for those guides :-)

That's how device storage has been marketed since computers have been sold. They tell you how much storage is in the device. Your Windows computer and Mac are the same. If you buy a 1tb laptop it's less than that after Windows is installed.

The same thing happens with a terabyte. Hardware vendors tend to use the lower numbers, or 1000 times a kilobyte. Software vendors usually use the higher numbers.

Yeah marketing people tend to cheat a lot in the way they use terminology and there are lots of examples of it but this particular example is so confused that my guess is it just sort of happened and nobody argued. I'm not convinced anyone is really cheating with size terminology. They're just following the custom.

If anyone else has anything simple like this they'd like me to confuse, let me know and I'll give it a shot. I seem to be pretty good at it.

EXACTLY! I do not know why they think users are always sitting around wifi. Or maybe this is their way to try to force users to purchase 32gb HDXs.

I understand and know this, doesn't mean it doesn't annoy me. This was not a complaint against Amazon but all computer techie sellers. It is just confusing and annoying to be touted one size knowing that is not what you are getting. But thanks for confusing others...

I just checked mine and it is preparing for shipment. I also had to talk to a CS rep today regarding problems with my PW2 collections and he stated mine should arrive tomorrow on time.
