Any info on hyphenation? I haven't seen a single hyphenated word on photos so probably not. Too bad.

I had the same thought, the PW1 and Nook Simple Touch are probably the last e-ink devices I'll buy. Tablets are dirt cheap now with audio and other features that make it unthinkable for me to spend $200 on e-ink as much as I like it. An 8" Nextbook tablet at Walmart is half the price of Amazon's high end e-ink device. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nextbook-8...-Core/34557744 Last edited by conan50; 09-18-2014 at 12:30 PM. Question, can the side page turn buttons be turned off to prevent accidental page turns when they are not wanted? Can the vibration be turned off as that's really going to be annoying?

That's how I feel, too. I can buy a nice tablet for $200. That said, I may end up buying one when my Kindle Keyboard dies. I do prefer reading on an e-ink device, and the Voyage does have some unique features that I would appreciate. |

Based on page 31 of the user manual, it appears that both the buttons and the feedback can be turned off.

That is pretty much what I'm thinking. I know I missed at least one flash sale where it was $99 even...wondering if that might happen again Cyber Monday.

I had been saying for months that I wanted to wait for the new Kindle before I made another purchase. After my issues with Kobo, I bought the PW2 and decided against waiting. I'm actually really glad I didn't wait. The price on this is just too high. The buttons and light sensors are really nice, but not worth the added expense. I also wonder if my problems with the screen on my Aura were due to the design (flat front, textured glass). So I won't be buying a Voyage. I'll hang on to my PW2 for a while. I used to replace my reader every 2 years as the devices improved. But I think I've reached saturation in regards to my ereader needs. |

Yes, but what we do not know is whether the Voyage also has 4 gigs. I do wish they would state that on the specs instead of the vague " can hold more that 1000 books" that they have been using for years.

				New Kindle Voyage

The iPad Mini retina display basically replaced (or almost) my Kindle PW. The only time that I use my PW is when I travel to a Colombia, due the longer battery life, or when I'm reading non fiction books. For other IT related books, I'm finding myself more and more with the Mini (or the Air). I think this is due the better contrast and bigger screen size I get with the iPads. If we were taking about 8 inches eink reader with better and faster PDF capabilities, I may pull the trigger. But Amazon seems to dismiss the 8 to 10 inches market when talking about eink. From the technical details section: "On-Device Storage 4 GB; holds thousands of books"

It's weird that the my 2010 Kindle Keyboard (which I have lost) has the same 4GB as the new Voyage. I suppose the KK needed more storage for audio books but it seems a bit silly for a modern device to have so little storage. I can't wait for a real review so we can find out how much of that storage is available to the user. I'm planning to read many comics/manga with my next ereader. I would definitely consider the slightly cheaper aura h20 if the voyage has less ram and thus can't handle large pdfs.

I am sure I would appreciate the resolution if I held it next to my 2d gen KPW, as I did when I held my 2d gen next to my 1st gen. But I am not having any issues with the resolution. The page turn buttons would be nice, but that is not a $200 option for me. I am disappointed, because I have bought every iteration of kindle since the first ($399), but I think I will sit this one out.

Not sure if this has been posted, but the user guide has more detailed specs. 3GB (of the 4GB) storage available to the user.
