New Kindle Voyage - Page 14

I'm staying with my Aura H20 pre-order having been spoiled with the Aura HD and its larger display, superb resolution, micro SD card and the ability to use my own fonts and customize. I have owned Kindles from the K2 to the PW2 but the Voyage just doesn't offer enough to justify the price IMHO. $199 is in tablet territory.

Also, Amazon is not quite the great deal it once was. I have learned that Rewards Points can no longer be applied to pre-orders.

I am weakening but I do' need' the kobo aura H20 more. If it was cheaper I would already have ordered but it's now far more a considered purchase.

How many additional lines of text can you fit on the Aura HD in comparison to the Kindle (assuming comparable font type and size)?

Considering I paid $399 for my original Kindle 1, the price doesn't seem that bad, really. Have we settled on an acronym for it yet? KV? KVY?

Edit: where did that 'd' come from?

That is a very good point. I did the same. Since I have a KK, I was trying to count how many upgrades I have missed to justify the purchase. Is it 2 or 3? There was a touch before the PW, correct?

Well anyway, I will ponder for a few more days, but I think the KV (I think that works!) is probably going to get ordered.

The PagePress pressure sensitive page turns are intriguing to me...but not $199 worth of intriguing.

Now my dilemma is whether to replace my Kindle Keyboard or not...but if I do, it won't be with the $199 Voyager.

Speaking of the user guide, I checked it to see if I can still page-turn by tapping the screen. I sometimes lie in bed curled up with the Kindle propped (sideways, since I'm sideways) on a pillow and my finger can naturally and easily poke at the screen to change the page.

Yes! You can still turn pages that way. I will still, of course, use the sensors when gripping the Kindle by the edges -- if I'm sitting up or lying on my back, I hold it that way.

A minor feature, but one I'm glad to see.

Go with the KPW2. I think it's a really solid device with a nice screen. Worth $119 IMO. Definitely go with the KPW2 over the new basic.

Now we know why they added 2gig to storage on PW. To justify selling last year's model at same price.
