Sooo, I'm new here (or rather a long time lurker) who just got a Kobo Aura HD and have run into an issue regarding html. Not sure if this is a calibre question or an Aura HD question and mods feel free to move it
I read a lot of fanfic and a lot of it is saved as a html file (to include images, hyperlinks) and mostly because it was the best way to preserve formatting on my old Sony 505. Buuut now comes the issue, calibre saves the html files as zip and the Aura HD will not accept that format. The title shows up but as an 0kb file with author unknown and when you try and open it, you get a blank screen and the Aura restarts. I tried to convert it to htmlz but that didn't work. So the question is how can I get the zip/html files to my Aura? I guess I can drag and drop but I want to add them to the right Collection/series. I did try and convert to pdf but that takes up a lot of room and the formatting is all off. Uh anybody help?

If you have downloaded all the HTML and images needed, create an index.html that links them all. Dropping that into calibre should create a HTMLZ with all the files. That can then be converted to epub. But...
If you are using calibre and reading fanfic, then get the FanFictionDownloader plugin. You give it the URL of the story, it produces a nice epub. |
