Bug?: webkit-hyphens?
Calibre doesn't recognize webkit-hyphens as correct in CSS and say it is invalid, but it seems but be correct for EPUB. Does it? If so it should be not listens in the check with with the editor. What do you think?

It's not a bug, webkit-hyphen is not supported by epub specs.
Why would you use it for epubs? Just put in hyphens: none if you don't want hyphenation (not sure if that works for all devices though.

"Working", "supported," and "part of the epub spec" are all different things.

-webkit-hyphens, adobe-hyphens, and -moz-hyphens may very well "work" to achieve what you want in a cross-platform manner. You just have to be willing to accept the fact that any "official" validators (based on actual IDPF ePub specifications) are probably going to bark about their inclusion.

Few days ago, I experimented it tough:
  • hyphens:none; was not accepted by the internal bug-check (Calibre release 1.35).
  • EPUBCheck3.0.1 validated my EPUB nonetheless.

The property hyphens is not lisedt in the various O'Reilly reference books, but it is worthy to note that the IDPF specs accept it.

calibre validates CSS against the CSS 2.1 spec. hyphens is not part of that spec. And you should not rely on it being supported by actual reading software.
