In general, though, one is not transferring such huge volumes of data that speed is an issue. eBooks tend to be fairly small files - typically a few hundred kb. Not like, say, transferring video where the file sizes can be in GB

One "workaround" is to put them into folders by author, and then use the "sort by file path" display option. That way you'll get your books listed in alphabetical order of author, and then by title within each author.

You can use the same trick to sort by genre, or by anything else that you want.

And to run an SD card, it does take power to do so. So, yes using a SD card with a Gen3 will decreased the battery life between charges. How much, I cannot say. Less battery life means that the drain to the SD card matter LESS. The capacity of the battery has not changed and the drain to the card is constant and very small (0.25 mA resting and around 70mA reading).

The biggest advantage is that if you install a firmware that erase the content you do not have to save your books. Also if you corrupt the internal disk you will probably get more problems then when you corrupt the SD card.

Also if you want to lend the Cybook to somebody you can just remove the SD card.

Go into Mobipocket Reader and set the book's info to show the Title as Author's Last Name - Title. Then set your Cybook to sort by Title.

Thanks, Derek. That's an interesting thought. I'd have to put the title in the Author's field. And if I'm going to do it I'd better do it before I get too many more books or it will take me a long time.

It holds "current" information about the ebook you have opened. Erase that and you go back to the beginning of the book.
