On the question of running one launcher on top of another I have noticed that the kindle stock launcher
continues to run "in the background" and its just a matter of me clicking on it although I never switch back anymore since installing Aldiko for my Book reading. @dacarlson Thank you for you list of other" factors" they are some of the things I think some have not mentioned when reporting their particular problems . Just wild speculation here but another cause I suspect is a combo of Gowidgets that constantly try to stay connected to the web and leaving your Wifi setting to "on" at all times. I personally rarely use My Kindle Fire for internet access at all as I find the the browsing experience ( even with dolphin HD) is less than satisfactory. I only switch it on whenever I pop over to my local community college to use their free public wifi to download a purchased app from amazon also I have NO widgets on my home screen thus leave my Wifi off most of the time (99.9%). |

Oh, I guess I'm the "know-it-all" or do I just "like a good argument". or do I have "absolutely no idea what I'm talking about"? Thanks for escalating this to a new level of hostility which did not exist before. This seems to happen on most message boards over time. There are some people who hang around a message board constantly and post constantly and become the "anointed" gurus of the board. ![]() ![]() The Poll speaks for itself, doesn't it? Facts are facts....sorry. BTW, the reason I seem to jump to the defense of GL and Rotating Wallpaper is because I introduced them on this forum after I found a posting on the Amazon Kindle Fire forums with links to both apps. Perhaps I feel a little responsible when people post that these apps have caused them problems and, also, I just naturally want to jump to the defense of an underdog in an argument???? dacarlson: I'm a 69 year old lady so don't beat up on me...I'm older than you, but I love my "gadgets". If you are going to the local community college just to download an app from Amazon, your use is way outside the norm and pretty much has no relationship to the average user here. You might want to think of that before you jump all over someone else. |

I hope you won't mind if I plagiarize your comments above when they seem appropriate. They are SO right on and applicable to so many similar threads on boards like this. And the analogy is utterly hilarious! As it happens, I contribute regularly to the reviews of the KF on the Amazon website and I promise I will remember your comments above the next time I'm tempted to tell a poster who cannot get their wifi to work that their router is made of "crappy concrete." |
