kobo reader color

Good Evening
i wanted to buy a new ebook-reader in the next month. Now i read this article:

and iam not so sure anymore. Should i wait for this new technology or buy now...

What is your impression on this device?

Quite simple. There's no point to read text in color. So the only reason for a color e-ink is to view full-color-image-rich magazines/catalogs. So it's really up to how much you are willing to pay for a 10"+ color e-ink gadget.

Agree with previous comment.

For regular ebooks (novels, fiction, etc) any eink device is more than enough. Tablets are for Magazines, color books, light browsing, emails, at least that's my opinion.

If you want a combined reading experience, get a tablet. For reading, eink, which is very basic but avoids all the distractions of email, Internet, etc.

There's no point to read text in color

_if_ you are a person with normal vision, yes

but for those with poor vision, changing the color of the text and background can be even more benefial than just increasing the text size on my jbl I have to use the second highest font settings 32? (been a long time) while on a tablet i can use a 24 sized font with gold font on a black background, the higher contrast really helps


and having night reading is a nice option for those sharing sleeping spaces
