That's what I have done for a couple of old Android tablets I have. Otherwise many apps will update to the latest version and be unable to run on the ancient system firmware on the tablets. I got tired of having to find old apks for apps and then sideload them onto the tablets. Since I turned off the auto update, I no longer need to do that. |

anyone else is having the problem with completely black images or icons or system UI on third party apps when any kind of optimization is enabled?
If I touch anything, pocket for example can't be used correctly. |

With one of the apps, FX File Explorer, I was able to eventually get the icons to show up regularly again by increasing the DPI. |

I hope this continues to work...not having a local update option doesn't sound good.

I wonder if you have the "Scan whole storage" box checked under Library Setting accessed from the Settings function in the sidebar... Or perhaps you have all your HTML manuals in the Books folder?

After successfully updated to fw2. 0, there is no Google Playstore on my note. How could I get it back. Thank you.

It's an option to set 'on' in the 'Settings' menu. Look at the 'Applications' menu.

Unfortunately that didn't work - do I need to update the playservices before enabling the playstore?
Also I factory resetted the Onyx Note, which didn't fix my problems - store purchases - browser doesn't switch off a2 after scrolling |

You are right ! the Books directory contains HTML files. I moved the Ruby's documentation and now I have only 82 pages. For some O'Reilly's books, the examples, errata are in HTML format, if I can exclude some files or directory, I must move this files away from the books ... not very useful.

Amazing Search Function in 2.0 Firmware!
I've tried the AI Search function and it is simply AMAZING
It was able to search through my scribbles (and I do mean scribbles), automatically OCR and match them with the search text! So it leads me to wonder why Onyx did not put an actual handwriting to Text function to allow conversion of handwriting to actual text?? They clearly already have the logic and functionality already built in. Deep admiration to Onyx team for the amazing search function. I own a Remarkable e-ink tablet also and hands down, I far prefer the Max 2. The original weaknesses of the Max 2 (as compared to Remarkable) was completely blown away by the new 2.0 firmware. Kudos to Onyx! Quote:

Initially I wondered whether they actually upload the notes to the cloud and do the "AI" thing there. But I just tried creating a new note, and it still can search texts in my writings without any network connection. So the OCR is done locally.
