Story HD firmware updated

Yesterday my USA wifi Story HD downloaded and installed version 1.19 of the firmware. My previous version was 1.17. I haven't hunted down any info on what the update fixed or improved.

Hi. What made you decide to purchase the Story? I see you have a Kindle 3.

The short answer is I hoped it would be a better tool than the Kindle for working with Google Books free ebooks. Here is a longer answer.

Hi I would like to upgrade my (story hd, wifi, with firmaware 1.0) the new firmware 1.9, I could explain how it works, because I've tried entering the hex file system folder and I do not do anything and not as installed, thank you very much.

In my case the Story HD downloads and installs the update. It is the "wifi" version of the Story HD. I do not know how to apply an update manually.

Today my Story HD (wifi) updated itself to version 1.21. Does anyone know where to find change logs or release notes for these updates?

The download page also shows notes that may contain hints http://www.iriver.com/support/download_list.asp but the new firmware version isn't listed there yet.

Notes for the last one (1.19) was "[Improvements] System Stabilization".

Not much of a changelog but better than nothing, eh?

Thanks! I have never clicked on those links because I have always already had the file and didn't need to download.

The font sizes are different, with my previous favourite gone (now the second smallest is too small, and the third smallest is way too large). Also, some of my epubs just look different too, with strange borders around some titles.

I might download 1.19 and go back to what I liked.

It's available on the download page now too with this description:

1. Field issues
(1) wifi
1) WEP:
* Connection fail if the key(password) includes "00" strings.
2) WPA-PSK:
* Connection fail if the password includes some space.
* Connection fail if the password over 32 characters.
(2) Scofield Bible (121MB) download fail issue fixed.
(3) Over 50MB file is downloadable now,

but if user space is less than 100MB, then
"Insufficient Memory" message will popup, and download will be terminated.
(4) EPUB png 2/4 bit rendering issue fixed.
2. Newly added functions:
(1) EPUB link function added.
You can test it with attached epub - "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"
(2) Search in EPUB/PDF function added
* Option -> search
(3) Enlarge font size at EPUB

There doesn't seem to be an update for the basic (non-wifi) version available yet, at least the epub changes I guess should go in there too. I hope they will support both versions of their reader device equally...
