Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

I've seen a few people asking around the net for this, so here it is: binaries for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, the text-based roguelike game playable from KTerm, compiled for armhf Kindle devices.

To play on KTerm, you'll need to do a tap and hold then release gesture to reorient the screen to landscape and decrease the font size. Then simply run ./crawl

Thanks for building and sharing this. I don't think I knew about the two-finger menu in kterm before so that was certainly a help. FWIW, it took about 30 seconds to launch the first time, but subsequently only took a second or two. I don't know if the lack of color will be an issue as I haven't played rouge-likes much, but the tutorial does mention a blue area which I of course couldn't identify. When quitting with ctrl-q it asked me to type yes, but in that dialog the backspace button didn't register.

Unhappy

Its just say "permission denied" when im trying to use "./crawl" on kterm and "fatal: kernel too old / segmentation fault". Did I messed up something?

Thanks.

Same thing here on PW1. I'm not an expert, but I think that the issue is that newer kindles are on armhf architecture which is hard-float, and older kindles are on armv7l architecture which is little-endian. This version of crawl is built for armhf, so you get these errors on older devices - so no, you didn't mess anything up.

If you have ssh working in kterm you can play dungeon crawl online instead via SSH. There's a video here which goes into more detail if you're interested.

Almost correct. Kindle firmware from 5.16.3 uses hardware floating point while Kindle firmware below 5.16.3 uses software floating point. Nothing to do with big vs. little endian.
