I know how to find my duplicates, I just to not know how to merge them.

I think someone told me they can be merged. If so how do I do that.

**Please understand I need step-by-step instructions.**

You can also use Alt+M and Alt+Shift+M depending on how you want to merge them.

These are the shortcut keys (obviously) -- their real home is the last option in the dropdown under "Edit Metadata".
