Kobo & Getsatisfaction

Anyone else notice that Kobo are no longer using getsatisfaction?? I see no reps have been here in quite some time either. I find it a little disturbing when a company removes itself from a community without so much as a "so long and thanks for all the fish". Anyone else feel similar?

Not huge buzz, but it has been noticed.

They actually made an announcement towards the start of Sept on GetSatisfaction that they were leaving it as of Sept 30. Nothing further until a few days into Oct and I was thinking how ridiculous that was since the original message was now lost down the screen, but early Oct when I went there it had a pop-up that said they had stopped using it, so you couldn't miss that they were gone. Pop-up worked on Firefox with flash blocker, but I guess depending on your settings it might not show.

Getsatisfaction was announced as being shut down about 6 weeks (as far as I recall) before the Sept. 30 shutdown date.

Hmmm... Sharkus has been around (iOS Kobo app is his area). Few of the other Kobo reps who've posted here have been seen in quite a while. One comment I received was to the effect that nicking yourself and jumping in the middle of a school of piranhas was more fun.

Regards,
David

Surely not here so much? I know over on getsatisfaction, things got pretty nasty sometimes. I stopped reading there quite a while ago actually, as it just wasn't really providing any useful information. People who asked for help were just being told to submit support tickets, I wasn't really seeing any answers to questions. I hadn't been there for weeks or maybe even months until just recently, when I was considering posting there to give my support ticket a little nudge.

Actually, as I said on another thread, I ended up giving the chat service a try and I was pleased with the outcome. It's something I would recommend, and they send you a transcript of the session later as well, so you have it all in writing.

Trust me, it would need a very thick skinned rep. of Kobo to stay too long here; there are a large number of very vehement posters here.

Also just because Kobo reps do not post here, does not mean they don't read here....

The transcripts don't always work. I have gotten empty transcripts in the past.

Francis Urquhart: You might very well think that; but I couldn't possibly comment

In all honesty and seriousness, I cannot speak for others who may have posted on here, but the last few months have been incredibly busy for me, and into that mix comes vacation time, so I've certainly not been around as much as I have in the past.
