I Sent a PDF to My Kindle--Where Did It Go?

A quick question:
I sent a pdf document to my kindle email address but it never showed up on my Kindle (or I can't seem to find it).

I received an email on my computer asking to verify my personal email address that the file was being sent from.

I did that, but can't seem to find the pdf. Is there a specific place to look? There's a fee to send pdf's---right?

thanks

If it's on your Kindle it will be in the "documents" folder. If you see it in the folder but not on the Kindle, you need to make sure your Kindle is set to show all content.

There's nothing there. Maybe Amazon needed to verify my personal email before I can sent things from it. I'll try again.
I can just sent the pdf as an attachement--right? Is there a fee for sending pdf's?

Have you set up your approved email addresses via your "Manage Your Kindle" account page. Yes you send the file as an attachment. There is a 15 cent per 1MB (rounded up) for sending non-Kindle store content via Whispernet. I prefer to use the @free.kindle.com method.

Here's the info from the Amazon's online help file (it's in your user guide as well).

Your Kindle Approved E-mail List

Your Kindle can only receive e-mailed attachments from e-mail addresses authorized on the Manage Your Kindle page. For a detailed description of how to send files to your Kindle via the wireless connection, see Sending Personal Documents to Kindle.

To add or edit an approved e-mail address:

1. Scroll to the "Your Kindle approved e-mail list" section on the Manage Your Kindle page.
2. If the desired e-mail address is not listed, enter an e-mail address you wish to use for sending content to your Kindle and click the "Add Address" link.
3. If you make a mistake or wish to remove an address from the list, simply click the "Delete" link next to the address.
4. If you wish to authorize multiple senders from the same domain, enter a partial address, omitting the user name: @youremailservice.com.

Sending Personal Documents to Kindle

Kindle's Personal Document Service (via Whispernet) allows you to e-mail approved files to your Kindle's e-mail address. Then, Amazon can transfer the file(s) wirelessly in a Kindle-compatible format to the device(s) for a fee. To avoid a fee, or if you're not in wireless range, you can send an e-mail to "name"@free.kindle.com and download the files via USB in a Kindle compatible format to the device(s).

Your Kindle will only receive converted files from e-mail addresses you have authorized on the Manage Your Kindle page to help prevent spam.

I'm forgetting the most obvious. You can just transfer the pdf to your Kindle with the USB cable. If your Kindle 2 has been updated to the 2.3 firmware (check by going home > menu > settings then look at the bottom rt corner of the screen) it will read the pdf as is.

If you want the pdf converted into a Kindle book (which will make it more usable if it is text only) make sure you write "convert" in the subject line of the email you send.

Let's us know if you get it worked out. If not maybe we can track down the issue more specifically.
