PDF to Kindle 2

I attempted to convert a PDF file to be read on my Kindle 2 and it was converted to a MOBI file. However, most of the formatting was lost and each paragraph ended up as an entire page. It's an eight page document that I'd love to keep at that size. Even if not at that size, there are black boxes with white text that don't get converted over at all...they stay black.

Are there other options or is it just the way it is at this point? Thanks!

Has your Kindle 2 been updated to version 2.3 yet?

Strangely enough...NO! I just got it from Amazon today, too!

How do I go about doing that?

Just follow the instructions in the link provided or you can wait until it updates itself automatically but it could be a week or two before it happens.

Figured it out...thanks for the idea! I didn't even realize that it wasn't updated. I figured that it had to be updated out of the box...apparently not!

Just another quick question...is it just me or does it take FOREVER for the Kindle to actually read, open, and switch pages within a PDF???

Not that I have noticed. Perhaps slightly longer to open, but nothing serious. I have only tried plain text PDFs I've generated myself though.
