I have been checking out this forum for quite sometime, but finally became an official member this week. I am a bit of an audiobook addict. If the book isn't available in audio, I use my Kindle DX for reading. Am currently in the process of trying to buy a used Sony 505 or 700 Reader to use for Overdrive library books. Already found the flea market, so hopefully will find a seller that has a reader in my price range.

It is nice to be here.

A couple of you asked about my Shih Tzu. I ran a small dog rescue for the last 20 years and had to close my doors to new rescues three years ago due to my health problems. We still have the little dogs that were too sick or old, blind and deaf to be adopted out. No one wanted them, so they are here until the end. I still have four Shih Tzu, three Japanese Chins, and a few Pekingese. We still have a very busy household.

I wonder if a lot of us fans of reading have small dogs. I would guess cats a lot.

I have a nice little mutt named Floyd, half Chihuahua and half Min Pin. He is a firecracker, and does a great job keeping my legs warm when I recline to read for a while.

Ummm... I love reading and have two Bernese Mountain Dogs, weighing in at 100+ pounds each... so no, I wouldn't say that reading is just for owners of small dogs
