Remove x format on Edit metadata does not remove format
In Edit metadata screen there's a list of formats for the item.
The context menu for the format list items includes Remove format option, and choosing this removes the format in question from the list displayed, but it doesn't actually remove the format. Presumably there should be a Confirm, after which the Remove is performed (with the several second Undo option that's presented when you delete from Library view). After that it should not matter how user leaves the current metadata view, since user has already explicitly made choice to delete it. Alternatively confirm delete could await until OK/Previous/Next is selected to navigate out of the current metadata screen. |

Much easier to use Remove book->Remove specific format, viz:
I use it frequently, puts the file in calibre's trash bin. BR |

Does not repro for me on Win11. Steps I tried:
1) Click edit metadata 2) Click on the format you want removed 3) Click the remove button next to the formats list 4) Click the OK button at the bottom of the edit metadata dialog 5) the format is gone from both th ebook details panel and the actual book folder, as expected |

Maybe the file is in use by some process? Reboot and try again? |

The only way I reproduced this was when I had the book format open elsewhere when I tried to remove that format from the edit metadata individually screen.
