How to remove <br> from Edit Metadata>Comments

It might be the source I get my metadata from mostly however lately I have had to edit most of the downloaded comments to remove the breaks by the following laborious method and was wondering if there is a shortcut.

Edit Metadata> Comment>HTML Tab> Select All> Cut> Notepad> Paste> Replace(<br>with SPACE)> Select All> Cut> HTML Tab> Paste

Right click, edit metadata in bulk, search & replace tab.

Select comments field, search for <br> and replace with space. Save the search if you do it often enough.

As well, update to 3.42. I had the same problem. Kovid has fixed the issue with the metadata download adding extra <br>.
