Bookshelf view of Calibre 9 beta has an empty cache button on the performance tab.

I have cleaned the cache more tan once using the OS and have not noticed issues (other than a slight performance hit)

I've occasionally deleted the entire caltrash folder from the File Explorer. No issues. It will be recreated, of course.
