Empty page between chapters while reading EPUB

When I open Viewer to full screen, I have text in two columns.

If end of chapter fits into one column - the second column is empty and next page is a start of next chapter.

But if end of a chapter takes both columns, then I have an empty page before starting the next chapter.

Going backwards - open a chapter from TOC, scroll up - again an empty page. And then the whole screen is filled with text, even if going forward the previous chapter had text for only one column.

Is this a setting somewhere or a bug?

Its an inevitable consequence of how pagination works with the underlying HTML rendering engine.

Maybe it is possible to adjust that "underlying HTML rendering engine"? Or use a different renderer? The empty page issue does not appear in the Viewer with other formats - maybe it would be possible to do a silent conversion from HTML to whatever is used in other cases?

I am not sure how forced HTML renderer is in the case of EPUB - but is it possible to update that renderer?

The HTML rendered is chromium and HTML is used in all cases, indeed all formats including EPUB are converted internally to HTML which is rendered.

You keep using the word FAULTY.
It WOULD be faulty if it did NOT work that way for an uneven page count when in 2-up.

Print books (mainly Hardback) always wanted The first page of a section to be on the right. Sometimes, the Left would not have any content, thus BLANK.
If you dont want blank pages. don't view 2-up
